Chartform
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Toastfield ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with Chartform. The short version: we collect nothing. Your imported files and charts stay on your device.
Quick summary
Fully local
All imported data and generated charts are stored on your device using SwiftData. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
No account needed
No email, no name, no sign-in. We collect zero personal information.
No data sharing
We share nothing with anyone. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking of any kind.
1. What We Collect
Chartform collects no personal information. The application is designed to operate entirely offline and does not communicate with Toastfield's servers. Specifically:
- →Personal information: None. No account is required. No email, name, phone number, or personally identifiable information is collected by Toastfield.
- →Imported files: CSV and Excel files you import are processed entirely on-device and never transmitted to any server. See Section 3.
- →Chart data: Charts and datasets you save are stored locally using SwiftData. See Section 2.
2. Locally Stored Data
All data you create or import in Chartform is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:
- —Saved charts: Chart configuration, type, axis settings, title, and color preferences.
- —Dataset contents: The data values from imported files or manually entered datasets.
- —Dataset metadata: File name, import date, column names, and row count.
- —App preferences: Your theme and display preferences, stored in iOS UserDefaults.
None of this data is transmitted to Toastfield's servers or any third party. It exists only on your device. Deleting the app permanently removes all this data — this action cannot be undone and the data cannot be recovered by us.
We strongly recommend backing up your iOS device regularly via iCloud Backup or Apple's macOS backup tools, as we have no server-side copy of your data.
3. File Imports (CSV and Excel)
When you import a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file into Chartform:
- →The file is opened and parsed entirely on your device.
- →The file's contents are never transmitted to Toastfield's servers or any third party.
- →The parsed data is stored in your local SwiftData database on-device.
- →The original source file remains in its original location; we do not move, copy, or retain it.
Your imported files may contain sensitive or personal information. That data never leaves your device through Chartform.
4. Exports and Sharing
When you export or share a chart from Chartform:
- —Charts can be rendered as images, CSV, or PDF entirely on-device and shared via iOS's standard share sheet, or saved directly to a location you choose using iOS's file-save dialog (for example, to Files or iCloud Drive).
- —Chartform can also copy a rendered chart image to your device's clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere, and can create a chart from data you paste in from the clipboard. iOS shows its own system prompt when Chartform reads clipboard contents. The clipboard is a resource shared with other apps on your device.
- —Where you send or save an exported file (AirDrop, Messages, email, a cloud-backed folder, etc.) is your choice and is governed by those respective services.
- —Toastfield does not receive or store exported chart images, files, or clipboard contents.
5. Third-Party Services
Chartform uses no third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking tools of any kind.
No data is sent to any third-party service by Chartform. The only network activity the app may perform is if you use the iOS share sheet to send a chart to a third-party app — which is your own action and governed by that app's privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
Because Chartform stores all data locally on your device:
- —Your data is retained for as long as the app is installed on your device.
- —Deleting a chart or dataset in the app removes it from your local library immediately.
- —Deleting the app permanently removes all saved charts and datasets. This cannot be undone.
- —We hold no server-side copy of any of your data. We cannot recover it for you.
7. Security
Because Chartform transmits no data to servers, your data security depends primarily on:
- —Your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID settings
- —iOS's app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from accessing your SwiftData database
- —Keeping your iOS device and operating system up to date
We maintain no servers that store your data, eliminating the risk of a server-side data breach affecting your charts or imported datasets.
8. Children's Privacy
Chartform is appropriate for users of all ages as it collects no personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — in fact, we collect no personal information from anyone. Parents and guardians should be aware that dataset content entered into or imported by the app is stored locally on the device and is accessible to anyone with access to that device.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Because Chartform collects no personal information and stores all data locally on your device, traditional data subject rights (access, correction, deletion) are exercised directly through the app or by deleting the app.
- →Access your data: View all your charts and datasets directly in the app at any time.
- →Delete your data: Delete individual charts or datasets in the app, or delete the app entirely to remove all data.
If you have questions about your privacy in connection with Chartform, contact us at info@toastfield.com.
10. California Residents — CCPA Rights
Chartform does not collect personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No CCPA obligations are triggered because we collect none of the categories of personal information the CCPA covers.
11. European Residents — GDPR Rights
Chartform does not process personal data as defined under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). All data is stored on-device and never transmitted to our servers. The GDPR's requirements regarding lawful basis, data transfers, and data subject rights are not triggered because we process no personal data.

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
